I've been writing software for 13 years and managing engineers since 2022. At Charter I ran a team of 25.

Now I lead development at Broadview, a commodity trading firm. I ship features by directing AI coding agents, and I build the tools that let the rest of the team do the same.

Away from work I spend time with my family, and my weekends are at the soccer fields.

How I ship

  • Specify. I write the plan and the acceptance criteria.
  • Build. Claude Code or Codex writes the code and tests, then opens the PR.
  • Review. The other agent reviews it and pushes back.
  • Verify. I run the app myself. CI runs Playwright tests and coverage gates.
  • Merge. I read the diff before I merge.

    • Built internal site hosting. Publish a folder from Claude or ChatGPT and it becomes a web page behind company sign-in.

    The firm's main app for risk, margin, positions, and P&L. Django, Celery, and PostgreSQL behind a new React front end.

    • Rebuilt the front end in React and TanStack with AG Grid. Risk, margin, correlations, position limits, market data, and NAV pages all moved over.
    • Built a P&L dashboard that drills down to single contracts and matches the broker's ledger.
    • Added imports for daily settlements and options data from CME, ICE, and MGEX, plus broker activity files and FRED economic data.
    • Added an MCP server so Claude can read risk, margin, and P&L with the same permissions the user has in the app.

    • Made trade scoring 30× faster by splitting the work across dedicated workers and sending the data in columns.

    • Moved the economic data imports onto it. The old and new jobs ran side by side for comparison before the switch.

    Deploys, CI, and error tracking, plus Tailscale network rules managed in Git.

    • Production runs on AWS ECS and Aurora. Releases get tested before they go out and can be rolled back. Each pull request gets its own preview environment.
    • CI runs Playwright in 4 parallel shards and pytest in parallel, with coverage gates on the lines each pull request changes.
    • Sentry handles release tracking, profiling, and alerts for the backend and the browser.
